    How we doing?
I for one, don't have a clue what the site costs to host and maintain but inquiring minds want to know.
I'm sure other members are curious as well. It seems most like the idea of an ad-free forum (I do). Does it look as though we can achieve this?
Again, thanks to the mods. for the time and effort that they contribute.

    Bill,

If you click on 'Settings' on the top right of the screen, then scroll down to 'My Account' you will see 'Paid Subscriptions'

If you click on that, it will give you your options for a donation.

When you use Paypal, the amount you decide will be deducted from your credit card. It's about the simplest way to make shift money internationally.

I know this is going to sound like I'm fobbing you off, but everything depends on how much it costs at the end of the financial year to produce 2 sets of accounts, 1 for the tax man, the other for Companies House, where our company is registered. One set has to be audited as well, and an assessment made for corporation tax. Until we have gone through a complete 1 year cycle, I will have no figures to say 'This is how much it costs to run the forum.

I can say that thanks to the generosity of members so far, we have made a terrific start, and we are squirrelling the money away so that we can be sure of meeting those costs, whatever they are.

Please don't fob me off. I don't know what that is, but it sounds scary.

Is that you in the avatar, after you were fobbed off?

I can neither confirm nor deny your speculative inquiry, my inquisitive Featherhead. For, as you well know, once one has been properly and completely fobbed by professional fobbers, one's life is forever changed.

The interesting question is, "Where was that picture taken?" Jail? Mental institution? Retirement home? Waiting in line at the post office?

Jeezus, Bishop. What the hell did I do to piss you off this time?

You're assuming that is a picture of me. Again, I will neither confirm nor deny. And since I'm a flaming heterosexual, I can assure you it's not a picture of any gay lover.

Perhaps it's a picture of your accountant after wading through all the questionable tax dodges you've put him through this year.
