    Important update on site sponsorship

As most of you know, our old forum was about to fold as the owners wanted to offload it, and in order to keep it going, Bishop, Flydive and myself formed a limited company, bought the forum and moved it to new servers, using this more modern platform.

We have been discussing methods of raising funds so that we can make the forum self financing and secure its long term future. Up to this point, the three of us have been financing the forum from our own pockets.

We have raised this issue on the forum before, and have taken into account the large body of feeling that there was against advertising, commercial sponsors and banners, and that members would rather see funding by way of voluntary donations from the membership.

We will therefore try that way first, at least for the time being.

If we receive enough voluntary donations, we will not go for commercial sponsorship. If we do not receive enough voluntary donations, we will have to approach commercial outfits.

We will also create a new section in the forum where commercial enterprises can advertise their wares in return for a voluntary donation, but there will be no banners or pop ups etc at this time.

For contributors, the new categories will be Bronze, Silver and Gold supporters, and donations will get you a shiny logo next to your username for the next 12 months, but bugger all else.

The donation levels will be in increments, in US dollars and as follows: -

    $10 to $40 for Bronze
$50 to $90 for Silver and
    $100 to $200 for Gold

    Members can donate by: -

    1) Go to http://www.r3owners.com/payments.php

    2) Go to your settings > My Account > Paid Subscriptions

Members from outside of the United States can still pay via any of the methods above, and Paypal will convert the donation into their own currencies.

We will run with this for 2 or 3 months, and see what happens before making any other decisions on funding.

If you pay direct to the PayPal address instead of going through the forum subscription method, please be patient for your nifty badge as I will have to manually set it for you.

I want to donate but the only option I was given from the first link was for PayPal. I do not use PayPal!!! How can I pay with VISA or, if necessary, by cheque?

Count me in. The only options I have is Mastercard(debit) or money order. Would one of these work? If not , any alternatives?

Hang on, we'll fix the problem so that you don't have to create a paypal account to donate.

Alright, you don't need a PayPal account.

Go through the subscription process, when you're brought to the PayPal site, which is our credit card processor, you will see on the right a space to log in and on the left, some text.

Click on the Continue link on the right hand side and you should just have to enter your billing info and card information without having to create a PayPal account.

Just an FYI, for those that have paid using their paypal accounts and transferred funds from their bank accounts, your badge doesn't show up until PayPal confirms the funds cleared. This typically takes 3-4 business days but once it clears, your badge automatically appears.

Credit card transactions should be instant, as can be see on mine <--- (yes, I actually paid) and I believe Templar.
