    A great day for beef

It finally cooled down to mid 80's here, so we are roasting the birthday beef.
Was going to BBQ, but it's still too hot outside.

    8.9 pounds of prime.
It just went in with internal temp of 46, but hope that 120 degrees is achieved at 7PM.

    Now the wine is on.

Hope to update you later, but, the wine has started.

"Happy" After being rubbed and spiced. And upgraded to the turkey roasting pan.
    Really a beautiful thing.

"Worried" - No pictures after inserting the temp probe.

"Sweating it" will go on for a while and then the "resting and the cutting" will be later.

Hope you all enjoyed the eclipse.

Man, that is going to turn out fine Phil

Beef prices here in the mid Atlantic are just gawdawful absolutely atrocious. I haven't bought beef for over 2-3 months... not that we can't afford it; but I don't feel like being taken advantage of by the proprietors of said beef product.

So we are doing a lot of chicken and pork on the grill these days.

We stayed up for the Eclipse as well last Sunday... and were clouded over. Could not see it. If I'm not dead in 30 more years; I may have another crack at it.

it's a gawd aweful price, but this has been planned for a year.

59 is a one time thing. after this, the birthdays don't count and aren't noticed...

    Except 69.

Kids are on the way and grand kids until Sunday.

    Good birthday.

No update. 71 degrees and counting.

The smell of pepper and beef is in the air.

    I'll probably be here.

I might even be back riding by then, but it's all about the boots, now.

Just don't get the boots that are made for walking and you'll be alright... Those probably won't look right on you anyway...
