Whats happening to this forum?

I never understood why it stayed an R3 only forum. I think we should have had Thunderbirds and Speedmaster/America forums as well. The new Bobber is selling like hotcakes, a lot of new people getting to ride their 1st Triumph.

I found the racism from a few years back disheartening. I couldn't discuss technical issues with people who don't respect other's colour or culture. The politics I can handle.

Some of us have moved on to other pursuits. I, for one, am on a mission to qualify, ride and finish the 2019 Iron Butt Rally. Unfortunately, the Rocket is not the best mount for a rally bike. Note: "Rally" in the long distance endurance (LD) riding community refers to scavenger hunt rallies where you choose your route through an assortment of bonus locations to achieve the highest score in the time allowed.

I still have my 75k mile Rocket but have purchased a 2015 Trophy for use as a rally bike. Talk about farkling. Geez...this has been fun.

The Trophy is a good mount for a long distance ride. I completed my IBA membership on a 2005 Rocket tho, just sayin.....

If you are 6.3 , the R3 with forward controls and the backrest is hard to beat. I also have the highway pegs just forward of the forward controls so I can stretch right out.
I also found that the fat high profile tyres iron out the bumps that suspension cant do.
I like the Trophy in most respects but my feet don't fit too well on the pegs and gear/brake levers.
Ive swapped bikes with others on long rides, always a pleasure to get back on mine.

A Russell Day Long seat was one of the first and still the best mod so far.
