    Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a good day today. It's focused as an American holiday. Many of you here are in other countries that today is just another day. I hope that everyone takes a moment to be thankful for everything that we all have. Most of us, freedom. Many of us have food to eat.

The single most important tie is that we are all or have been Captians of an amazing motorcycle that is one of the best ever.

    Happy Rocket Thanksgiving.

Just curious - what do you actually give thanks for? Apart from Rockets, of course.

So, is Thanksgiving Day something that is personal to each American rather than giving thanks for an actual historical event?

I think it may be more properly called 'grateful' day. I consider myself fortunate in many ways as, I'm sure do many here. I don't, however, feel any need to thank anyone, but I do feel grateful.

Historically the Pilgrims (the British religious zealots not abiding by Church of England, who chose to starve in the "colonies," vice rotting in a British prison system) made a harvest feast wherein they thanked God for all the blessings of the past year (like not starving to death, being wiped out by plague, or being butchered by the indigenous folk). Over the past 2 plus centuries we've commercialized it into the annual turkey day feast of abundance that it is today.
